Nominations Are Open!
Feb. 15th, 2019 07:59 amHello, excited xeno-lovers! Nominations for the exchange are open open very soon (tag set here) and we're all very excited as well. Here's some more information about nominations.
Do I have to sign up to participate in the exchange if I nominate?
No. You can nominate ships even if you have no intention of signing up to the exchange.
How many fandoms can I nominate?
You can nominate up to five fandoms.
How many ships can I nominate?
You can nominate up to ten ships per fandom, for a total of fifty ships.
How should I format my ship nominations?
Romantic or sexual ships should be nominated with a / between character names such as [Character A]/[Character B]. Platonic relationships or friendships should be nominated with an & between names such as [Character A]&[Character B].
What if the character I'm nominating is human in canon, but I want to make them non-human?
If you want to designate an AU form of your character, please use an ! between the characteristic and the character's name. For instance, if you want to nominate Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy but Draco is a werewolf, you would nominate Werewolf!Draco Malfoy/Harry Potter.
Does every ship have to have a human character?
Not at all! Ships made up of two aliens, two supernatural creatures, etc are perfectly permitted. To remain in the spirit of the exchange, there should be something xeno about the relationship - they're different alien species, or different supernatural creatures.
Can I nominate original works and ships?
Yes, this exchange is open to orignal works or characters. Please be sure to specify as many details as you need for your original characters, such as Original Tentacle Monster/Original Male Character, or Original Banshee/Original Female Character, or Ghost Haunting House/New Homeowner, etc. As long as one of the nominated original characters is non-human, or the nominated characters are of different species, it meets the requirements of the exchange.
Can I offer open nomination slots to others?
Yes! If you have open nomination slots that you haven't filled, feel free to leave a comment on this post offering to nominate other ships or fandoms. Anonymous comments are turned on, so people can offer or request open nomination slots anonymously if they prefer.
